Title: Air leak
Post by: 18360 on November 30, 2024, 10:13:34 am
Attached is where a fitting is leaking air.  I don't want to make it worse, so I am asking the proper way to tighten this up.
The brass fitting where it goes into the nut swivels.  The whole rubber hose and the brass fitting and the nut below all move at once.
I'm not sure how to tighten it up.

Thanks

If it was me, I would first bleed off system air pressure, then remove the air line (unscrew the compression nut and pull tube out of 90 degree fitting).  Then remove either the 90 degree angle fitting, or the big nut where it threads into the height control valve body - whichever is loose.  Reinstall whatever you remove using some good thread sealing paste.  I like Permatex - found in most auto parts stores.  Reconnect the air line.  Done!  8)

Permatex Hi Temp Thread Locker Sealant 0.2oz (https://www.autozone.com/sealants-glues-adhesives-and-tape/thread-locker/p/permatex-hi-temp-thread-locker-sealant-0-2oz/526913_0_0?cmpid=OSA:US)
