Hey All,
Has any one successful used a Bluefire for there 1999 U320 with a Cummins M11. Here is what Bluefire says can happen.
Thanks
James
2001 U320 with a few glitches. But all in all okay. BUT have to send in and pay for an update. Pisses me off. Still on the shelf to ship out
I used one on my 36' 99 U320. It worked fine and I got used to leaving it plugged in unless I put the coach in storage for an extended period. Once, after shutting down at a rest stop and restarting, the transmission wouldn't shift out of first. After some head scratching, I removed the Blue Fire and all was well. I sent it back for repair and had no further issues. I told Blue Fire that I was not happy there was a failure mode that disabled the transmission. Don't know if they made any changes as a result.
Same thing happened to me stuck in 1st gear ...the unit gets corrupted if you shut it under certain "color" condtions...red flashing I believe. Had to send it back to BF to clear the memory.Have used it a few times since and now adhere to the shut down procedure.
Currently using VMSPC
I have one for my 2000. I would not purchase again if given the choice. Gives some pertinent information but some of it is not correct. It squawks a lot for no reason. I don't use it most of the time.

So, are there any other options. I just bought an old silver leaf and would like to go more modern.
There are always custom options. If the engine supports J1939, I can setup an IQAN display to show whatever you want.

I highly recommend ScanGauge D. Simple, low cost, effective and discreet. Shows four parameters at one time and they seem to be very accurate. I set mine up for oil pressure, coolant temp, trans temp and speed. Unbeatable for the cost in my opinion. My gauges always worried me because they are all off leaving me to wonder if my oil pressure is too low and my engine is too hot. I have the Bluefire and it no longer works. I have little patience for glitchy technology. I guess if I run out of things to do in this life I will tinker around with it and try to get it to work again.
I have on my 2001 320 a Road Relay II system . It works really well, gives me everything that is on my dash and then some. Temps/Presures/Air/Fuel Rate/MPG....etc. It's the size of a CB radio and can be programmed for servicing and gives warnings on the systems too.
I bought the VMspec system and have been planning on installing it for some time. Not sure what I'll do with the Road Relay.... possibly sell it.
I was disappointed to see that I could not purchase a Silver Leaf for PC and have been watching this thread. regarding the Parker system, does a 1999 M11 use J1939. I thought it is not, but have not determined definitively. I am hoping for a system that I can also add to since I don't have any monitoring on the generator, and would like the ability to add some other data points.
So I called and talked with Mark at silverleaf/Trillium electr today about what my options are on my unit. He is sending me an old wire diagram for an old silverleaf monitor I purchased. WOW, how nice it is to be able to have a phone number to actually call somebody and talk to them.
I'm a silverleaf fan now.
Great news, Mark said that they have a new unit ready to ship as soon as they come in. Model 500. It has a color smaller monitor and pricing around $500-600.
And hard wired and not blue tooth.
As soon they send me soon coming information I will share.
It appears the M11 does not support J1939. Just the older J1708/J1587. So the fun part becomes finding something that can read J1708 or translate it to J1939. There are some modules out there that do this that you could add to feed information into a J1939 system.
I have one I would sell
