Magnum Energy. The absolutely worst technical support I have ever seen.......as in non-existent. Calling tech support will only get you the "sorry there are no tech's available and please try again later message. You can't even leave a message! I have been trying to contact them on and off for the better part of 4 months to no avail. I've even tried contacting Sensata directly, investor relations, you name it. No dice.
I do like my Magnum products, as I have the 2812 inverter, the PT100 solar controller and the ME-ARC display panel. I like how everything integrates and how I can monitor everything in the ME-ARC.
I don't like the fact that I cannot talk to anyone there to get any answers.
I have read in other forums about folks in the same boat. This seems to be fairly recent. It sure does feel to me that Sensata does not really care about the Magnum brand anymore. In fact, it sure feels like they are going away.
I'm pretty sure that I will be moving to Victron at this point, as I had already purchased one of their B2B chargers. I want to deal with a company that's accessible.
Does anyone want to buy my Magnum components?
Victron certainly seems to be the go to right now. If I were updating Victron would be it.
I'm right there with you. The 3012 magnum seems to work great but the arc is confusing to me. I do have the Victron shunt and I like the interface for that better.
I would also probably switch out the magnum for victron if the opportunity happened. I notice there's a lot more solutions for victron questions on this forum than there is for magnum.
Well maybe their poor non existant tech support is because they are no longer producing product for rv or marine applications. You will find that you can't contact Victron directly either, only thru a supplier. Choose your supplier carefully, as their support varies widely.
Have you tried to get a tech at HWH, lately?
I had ben trying to get a tech at Magnum also with no luck, so I tried to change what I wanted and
succeeded. They used to be awesome.
hmmm. I have called for support to Magnum several times from Canada here and never had issues.
They were always very polite and knowledgable.
They even returned my call when we got cut off one time..

My Magnum Inverter is coming up on 10 years now. Why would I even think of replacing this one with one of their other offerings at this point. It's just a sign of the times. Good support is truly hard to find.
I had the same support as Peter a year ago and I had used them quite a bit and I was always impressed
with there help. A few weeks ago I called them and never got through.
I believe that everyone who has anything Magnum is now on their own. I'm just glad I have no Magnum products that are still under warranty.
Seems as though the whole world is going through the lack of customer service thing. Gladly take your $$$ then heres your hat there's the door support policy. I guess is customer beware and choose carefully.
AI will be changing that. For the better or worse, who knows but it's coming. Can't be much worse than the clueless guy at the parts counter that with 0 working knowledge of anything. Take away there computer and totally lost.
