I have always used Delo400 oil in every thing in my 95 U240 Cat3116, Onan 6.5k Generator, Cooling fans, Power steering. Now harder to get Delo400, What is the difference
Chevron Delo 400 XLE SAE Synblend
Chevron Delo 400 XLE SAE 15W-40
What would you choose?
Pat,
If it has the CK rating it doesn't matter much.
Valvoline Blue 15-40w
Valvoline Blue is not easy to find always in KY but it's my oil of choice :)
I am an extreme Mobil 1 Delvac fan. For what these engine cost full synthetic. There are a few versions of this oil If you use in winter consider the 5w-40 for the better cold flow and easier cold starting slight fuel economy advantage. There is now an "extreme" version which is a 15w-40. Supposedly better protection. I also use the 5w-in the generators. I would also go for the Caterpillar "high efficiency" oil filter. There are a lot of choices but that is my favorite.
Walmart carries both at very reasonable pricing.
delvac 1 - Walmart.com (https://www.walmart.com/search?q=delvac+1)
Usually you can get free delivery.
Tractor Supply here in SC has maybe 2-3 gallons at a time, whenever there I pick up a few for future use, great price also.
Go online at Tractor Supply and order it from them. They do have good prices and ship items in quickly. I've even ordered a single quart of synthetic chainsaw engine oil.

I have bought my delo400 at Sam's for years at $37.?? for three(3) gals. per box. Sure can't do that now! Sam's does have Shell Rotella T5 15W-40 Synthetic Blend Heavy-Duty Diesel Engine Oil, 3-pack/1 gallon bottles for $62.98. My Cat 3116 takes 21 qts. I would also like to keep all the oil needs of the MH the same, that is the way I got it.
