Merry Christmas to everyone I'm home for the holidays for anyone who installed a fast fuel pump with either electrical or mechanical gauge. Could you tell me what pressure you see at full engine load? I installed a fass pump 40,000 miles ago and I have noticed that I am about two PSI lower now than what I was a few years ago, I regularly see my pressure fall to 10 PSI and was wondering if anyone else could tell me their experience as far as fuel pressure goes under full load thank you Ps 18.5 psi idling and 10 psi under full acceleration brand new primary and secondary
John,
I installed a FASS Titanum system on our 2001 U295 about 3 years ago. I have both an Analog gauge at the pump itself and an electronic on my dash. With new filters at idle I see 19-20 both. Full load going down the road 15-17 dash. I have twice had my system drop down to 8-12. In both cases my moisture filter was the issue. How do i know it to be the moisture filter? I opened up both of my FASS filters. The primary is nothing but a very fine stainless mesh and there was nothing at all stuck in the mesh anywhere. The moisture filter inside is a combination of fiber/Stainless mess, noting physical but water is impossible to see. (Similar to a K&N air filter) Both times I replace both filters and all went back to norm. Knowing what I now know after autopsy of 2 primaries, if it happens again will just replace the moisture and see the outcome. I run the standard FASS filters, they do make a larger set.
Thank you, that's the Real world information that I needed ,what pump did you buy (GPH) 🇺🇸🎄
John I bought the one that came recommended by one of the lead guys at FASS, it was the Titanium Universal 100GPH kit.
Thank you ,Great write up that you did on your installation, Have new pump coming 🎄
Santa worked with Summit racing 🎁 to get me a new Fass fuel pump all most installed ,
Do you feel comfortable putting positive pressure on the fuel line running through the basement?
Yes, installed new Stainless Steel PFTE hose with new fittings from tank to engine , hose and fittings rated way more then 20 psi @ 147 (1500psi @ 450 degrees) with flashing low pressure alarm in dash gauge. my older pump was in the same place for the last 40000 miles 🙏🏻
Looks good John,
thought of mounting mine there but didn't like the tight area and the thought of pressurized fuel over the full length of the coach. As I was replacing all my fuel lines at the same time, I had the luxury of mounting it just about anywhere I wanted to. Last month (few years after the fass install) I finally moved the Final fuel/water separator from away from the side of the engine where its hard to get to, and put it right next to my FASS.
