I use a Baldwin BF5813 on mine as primary. That is what was on my 97 C8.3 when I bought it. Does not have a glass bowl.

My secondary is still on the block and is compatible with Cummins  Foretravel etc but my primary number is only compatible with a Detroit 60 series FS 19513  I will make sure the micron number is close  Thanks

Micron rating of the primary should "complement" the micron rating of the final filter which is speced by Cummins (different for different engines/injection systems. It is there to remove the water and larger contaminants.

If for example the spec/secondary filter is 5 micron,  the primary should be in the 10 micron range.  Can be as course as 30, but, I would go with a 10.

BF5813 is rated 5 nominal and 25 absolute according to the data sheet. Can someone explain me what that means?

To me that means that it will get the 25 micron and larger pieces and might get the smaller stuff.
