Title: Transmission model # and depth of oil pan for trans
Post by: Niels on February 03, 2025, 11:01:50 am
Good morning Everyone, Trying to order fluid and filters kits for the transmission in our 2007 nimbus 336 ISL 400 Cummins. There appears to be two model numbers and 2 different depths of the oil pan. MH3000 and MH4000 and 2inch and 4inch deep pans. Does anyone know what is in our coach. The coach is in storage an hour away. thanks in advance

Does your 2007 also have a transmission retarder?  I recall it was optional that year (and only that year, (it quickly returned as a standard feature).

Cannot speak directly to your coach. Our 2008 Nimbus CE338 had an MH3000 transmission with a ISL 425 engine. Transmission had a retarder. It is my understanding that the MH4000 transmissions are on the ISM 500 engines.

Your transmission is a deep pan 4" mine takes a bit more than 5 gallons of fluid. It does have a retarder. The filters are about 6" tall

Call Foretravel parts, give them your coach number.  They can tell you serial# of transmission and tell you what filter you need.

There are lots of Allison part numbers for the filters.  I called Allison tech support with the s/n of my transmission and they gave me the correct p/n.  They were very helpful.
