Title: Broken wire in puck light socket
Post by: AdventureSofie on February 09, 2025, 09:54:15 pm
2002 U320. A wire prong from the light bulb broke off in the puck light socket.  Need guidance on getting the broken wire out.  The actual socket is behind the reflector. I popped the reflector off.  It looks like the leads are molded to the socket. How can I get the broken wire out?

Just replace all of those Quartz halogen light sockets with LED pucks. They are cheap and much more efficient. If you like I stil have a bunch of those sockets. P-Mail me and we can touch base. I'll mail you some.

I reused the factory receptacle and installed LED lollipop lights in them. That is a spring tension socket so you probably can open the socket with a similar size pin or a little bigger to release the broken pin

I am replacing the halogens with the flat LEDs.  I'll send Dennis a message.
Thanks.

I used these to replace all. I used 4000K in the bedroom and 5000K in living room and entry. Love the look. They are also available in different trim ring colors. I used black for under cabinets and in the overhead mirrors. White in the padded ceiling. I didn't do dimmers yet.

I hadn't seen those.  Finally more affordable so I'll keep an eye on these. Wonder how well they'll last.

Wow, that's lit up like a showroom.  Really shows off the nice coach.  Looks like you have the chrome/Stainless interior fixtures.  Those white lights go well with that.

And energy efficient. I think these are about 3 watts. I tried the lollipop upgrades and just didn't like the look. Tried the 3000K soft light. But the 5000K against that tile is like wow! There are so many switches to turn on small sections I didn't bother with dimmers yet.  I also did LED bulbs in the wall sconces and the fixtures over the bathroom sinks. All inside lights on pulling about 9 amps in place of 1 amp each.

These are what we did (start at this post and the 2 that follow it)  What did you do to your coach today X (2024) (https://www.foreforums.com/index.php?topic=48468.msg490597#msg490597)

These accept an input voltage range (8-30 VDC), so have constant current circuitry that work best with our house battery range vs a fixed inexpensive 12V LED.
