I finally fixed my generator, and when I ran it with both air conditioners to test it, I got a fault code below. The fault doesn't show when hooked to shore power.
Any ideas for a fix, or what is wrong?
What does your digital voltmeter read in any 120 VAC outlet in the coach?
Generator wired wrong, 240 volts where should be 120 volts,
Or open, incorrectly wired neutral, ground connection on transfer switch.,
Or defective regulator or speed control.
Do you have a frequency meter to confirm RPM?
Magnum battery charger circuit has an acceptable 120v high voltage setting that could be a bit too low. Did Magnum battery charger work ok with generator running, but Roof AC's off. Magnum has setting that displays incoming 120 volts and battery 12 volts. With generator and shore power each supplying two separate 120v circuits, it will be helpful to know which coach outlets are on Leg 1 and Leg 2, so you can be aware of voltages at that moment on each Leg.
Wow. This stuff is out of my league. I will need to do some homework and get back to you guys.
I was hoping for an easy "flip this switch" answer! LOL
A digital voltmeter can be had for under $25.
Your coach's 120 VAC outlets have:
One long straight= neutral
One short straight= hot
One round= ground
So, with your voltmeter set to AC (alternating current), without touching the metal part of the probes, stick one probe into the short straight and the other into the long straight. Should read round 120 VAC.
Short straight to round= the same
Long straight to round= zero
Explain "I finally fixed my generator" What was done and who did it. Maybe we do not know what has changed or what you are asking.
Belt came off - had to replace it.
