Title: Window leak
Post by: Rich Bowman on March 04, 2025, 02:44:33 pm
Does anyone have any idea what this might be.  It happened once before and I cleaned it up with a little spray cleaner.  It's not oily.  The last time, it was further to the right on the same window.

I don't think the window gasket seal is leaking but I guess it could be.

Thanks,

Rich

Just really isn't anything there but the window. Do do you think it's leaking from the backside of the frame from inside or over the aluminum sill?

Roof leak finding its way down the wall

It appears to be coming from under the window frame, not from the channel.

I'll get up and check the roof early next week when it warms up.

We are getting a good rain tonight so I'll check in the morning for moisture.

Thanks,

Rich

No sign of any moisture this morning.

Did both times occur after driving through rain?  If so, consider something on the roof, the roof moulding, driver's window awning, or the clearance lights.

Rich, I had a similar looking stain on one  of my windows. I think mine is from a small leak around my AC.

Do you have any water marks in the cabinet over the window?

It's very easy to just pull the window and reseal it. The putty  tape is available at most any rvparts store. That way you will know that's not the cause of the leak. I chased a wind noise for over a year. Turned out to be the drivers side window was not sealed correctly.

I didn't notice it until just recently and the previous time was last year and I don't remember the events leading up to it.

I'll check the cabinet above.

It doesn't seem to be chronic so I may just clean it up and keep an eye on it to see if I can identify a trigger.  The window has a bulb seal that has been replaced in the last 5 years.

I have similar issues on my IH-45. Left me with a stain on inside of MCD shade and streamed on the outside below window.  I do not have a cause or solution yet.
