The propane generator on our grand villa works fine when stationary. However, when I try to turn it on while going down the road, it dies very shortly after it fires up regardless of whether or not it is under load. Anyone dealt with this before?
Elliott,
Is this a LIQUID or vapor generator (look at tap(s) on the tank)?
If the regulator outside the generator and oriented vertically or is it inside the generator?
Vapor I think? See attached pics. And yes, the regulator, for it appears to be outside the generator and mounted vertically.
When we had our '92 it had a similar problem that ended up being the oil switch going bad.

Elliot- saw this on another forum- same problem you're having- this was an answer on that site-
"I had the same issue even after my carburetor was replaced. In my case it was a faulty low oil sensor on my Onan 4K generator. Any movement at all would cause the unit to shut down. It would run for hours without skipping a beat on their level lot. A few minutes after I decided to park it off level on my 3rd? trip to the shop, it shut off. Then they figured out what it was. The gen. shop unhooked the low oil sensor, and all has been good since, other than no longer having the low oil shut down feature."
hope this helps.
Thanks guys, I replaced the oil pressure switch and will report back once I'm able to drive the coach in a couple weeks
With all of the solar you have, you need to run your generator?
No almost never, that's why it's tak n me so long to worry about this. I pretty much only run it to exercise it
