Our 98 u295 retarder accumalator has been cleaned and lubricated and still leaking air I 've even considered stretching the springs Does someone have newer valve part numbers
Here is a photo of the one I have. This number may (most likely) have been superseded by another number which isn't uncommon but should help with your search.
Mike
The p/n in Mike's photo is the most recent one we have on the forum, although it was last referenced about 10 years ago.
Found a more recent mention from AdventureSofie Hyd air solenoid issue (https://www.foreforums.com/index.php?topic=46465.msg472321#msg472321) 29557354
ETA, the price has definitely gone up, but I do see this open-box one on eBay for $300, and there are a couple of others in that price range before it jumps to double.
New Allison Transmission Valve Assembly Solenoid Retarder 29557354 New | eBay (https://www.ebay.com/itm/156788817452)
Thank you for the info
Could the retarder valve be the same although the engines are not are not 450 hp vs c325 hp because Pamela and Mike provided a # that is in stock
The retarder valve is related to the transmission, not the engine.
That's right hopefully the valve will work on my Allison 3060 as it did with your Allison 4060 Thanks for the part # I ordered one just now
Thanks Pamela and Mike It's good to learn this valve will work for both the 320 and 295 Most people responding seem to have the 320 I called Foretravel yesterday they had no aftermarket numbers Then I called Keith he was checking on optional valves also So thanks for that part number you gave me I have it ordered Leonard and Sherry When I cleaned and oiled the valve parts I tried to look for a tear in the diaphragm it may be too small to see 8035306652
It's just a solenoid air valve. You could probably use other stuff, as long as it meets the voltage/current draw specs.
When I bought my RV forever ago, the retarder air valve was not working. It was stuck and did not put air into the accumulator during retarder operation. However, the retarder still worked, it just took several seconds to activate and start slowing the RV down.
I found a new-old-stock valve on ebay for like $30.
Thank you for responding A valve was placed on the air supply line by a previous owner so I valved it out to check the operation differance already Your right
