Repaired the handle next to the door someone pulled it off before we got it. Now the light stays on. If a screw is removed it goes out. Any idea why the screw is causing the problem ?
I think the screw is closing the circuit. If working properly, if you touch the bottom of the handle you ground the light, causing it to turn on, after awhile it will shut off.
When we changed our bulb on handle, had a hell of a time with light staying on. Put a little silicone on the screw and it no longer completed the circuit and has been functioning since.
Mine works with the switch 100% of the time.
But- sometimes when you touch it, with switch off, it comes on and sometimes it doesn't. Go figure
Is there a schematic for the Touch light module? Maybe Michelle can help. Jim.
I recently did some troubleshooting on my system (turned out I just needed to insulate the ground wire better). Here is the Foretravel schematic, but it shows nothing inside of the module. Also, I included the manuals from Intellitec. I reached out to Intellitec (M$MRV Electronics) and they reported that the module has been obsoleted but I did get a contact in tech support who may be able to help:

Hope this helps.
Thanks everyone. The one on the 91 works fine. The one on the 04 worked fine with just the wire hanging. I could touch the wire and the lights would turn on, but when I reinstalled the handle bottom it stays on so I think the module and wiring are fine, just that the screws are grounding out enough to trigger it. I'll try some silicone on it and see if that fixes it.
Not for the internals. A-7995 as referenced above is Foretravel's schematic for how it's wired in, and that's basically what Intellitec shows on their datasheet
The screw is probably going into metal, creating a constant ground.
