The Splendide 2100XC stopped being made in 2020.
Anyone have a Splendide WDV2200XCD vented Combo? Have they improved the drier lint cleaning?
Our 2100XC has been acting up. I keep removing it and fixing it (lint, blocked discharge hose, now possibly drain motor and/or sensor). I'm getting too old to keep getting the 160 pounds in and out. by myself.
Ready to just go to the new model. Any feedback on the new one?
We had one installed in February. Have only run a test load so far, but I'll be doing laundry this weekend and might be able to answer some questions.
ETA - when I did that test load, it did seem a little quieter than the 2100 you have. The digital readout showing time remaining is a nice feature.
MOT says I can order it and have delivered to their parts dept for them to install. The parts price they quoted (w/o labor) was way high.
I'm surprised I can have it deleivered to them.
Dang - wish we had asked about that (ordering and shipping directly to them.)
Make sure they use the Splendide-provided hoses. We had to explain to the tech that did ours (it was a new installation, not a replacement) that the Splendide has metric water connections and you can't use off-the-shelf hoses. They were trying to do us a favor by installing metal, braided lines instead of the reinforced rubber ones that Splendide provides.
We have one....huge difference from the previous model. It dries faster, requires less cleaning, more quiet. No regrets.
Second load done. Can confirm much quieter and dries faster.
We have one we installed about two weeks ago. So far we have done about a dozen loads. The last six or seven loads, the machine has stopped and given an error code. When we restart, it works most of the time, although on one load it stopped on the first restart and we had to restart a second time. When I called customer service, they said it might be a power problem, but I can't find anything wrong. We are moving tomorrow, so we will see if the problem goes away with a different power source.
We had MoT install a 2200XCD about four years ago and have been completely satisfied with it. As Michelle said, it is really quiet. As to your question about lint, there is a strainer in the water drain system that supposedly catches lint from the wash cycle. As far as I can tell there is not a filter on the dryer exhaust. Since the dryer exhausts directly out the side of the coach, there is not much ducting to retain lint. I regularly look in the outside vent for any build-up and have seen none. After a couple of years of use, I slid the unit inward enough to be able to check the dryer exhaust port on the back of the unit and it was clean. So I will continue to periodically keep an eye out for lint build-up. Hope this helps.
The lint and trash filter is located behind the bottom front panel on the right side. We've never seen much lint in it and filter is checked regularly. The washer will display a CL code on front panel if it needs cleaning. We get a lot of lint out the exhaust so it must be pretty efficient at handling the lint. We purchased ours at Camping World as they had a sale and we paid, if memory serves, around $1200. Had a couple local techs install for around $400.
