Hi everyone,
Just noticed the driver information center is stuck.
Dash gauges work fine.
I can navigate through the systems using all four buttons but what it displays seems to be the last reading(s) before it stopped displaying current information.
My first quick fix to most electronic freezes would be to remove power for a few minutes to reset...
I had all three start batteries disconnected for 48 hrs( to check individual voltages) and it had frozen already.
ScanGauge D reminds me a lot of the Driver Information Center. I wonder if there was a memory setting was unintentionally initiated.
I happen to have a ScanGauge in the coach which is working just fine. I disconnected it yesterday hoping it might do something.
Tried to disconnect the D.I.C. yesterday but I couldn't unplug the connector, didn't want to pull to hard. Will try again tomorrow. No troubleshooting info in the D.I.C. user guide.
No change after trying to reset as per ScanGauge manual.
I believe it gets power from the start batteries is that correct?
If the buttons are working and it's powered up, but the data is just not changing, it sounds like you lost the CAN connection into the unit. It should be wired similar to the diagram below. The dash gauges and the DIC all read from the same CAN network. Do all the dash gauges work right? Air gauges too? Looks like it's all white wires going into the plug, but Pin 5 and 6 are the CAN wires. Check that those are not loose or disconnected somewhere.
Hi everyone,
Called FT tech service today.
Spoke with Jay who stated to unplug the unit for 5 minutes .
He did not know of any reset procedures using the push buttons . He also stated that Cummins made that unit and they may have further information on a reset.
I unplugged the unit and waited.
It worked!
