Title: Aquahot annual service and adding an hour meter
Post by: Geodmann on June 22, 2025, 10:21:08 am
Finally got around to performing the annual service (long overdue) on my Aquahot.  The swirler is a little warped but that's how it has been since I've owned it and it seems to work great.  Burner nozzle looks like new but I put a new one in and adjusted the electodes.  Combustion chamber had a little bit of soot but cleaned up nicely.  I would like to add an hour meter that operates whenever the burner is running.  In looking over the schmatic in the manual I'm unable to figure out where to tap in to energize the hour meter.  Has anyone here done this and where did you tie in?

Mine is hooked up with one wire on the #2 on the C plug . Now this wire is the black wire that goes to the motor so the hour meter runs when the blower motor is running. Which is close enough for me as to the actual burn time. The other wire off the hr. meter goes to ground.

The black wire on the C-plug is power to the blower motor.  That would be a good source of burner run time.

As for as operational info is concerned, running hours does not tell me anything.  Clean and clear exhaust is the tale of proper operation.

Got the hour meter hooked up and functioning thanks to the information provided above.  Thanks for the replies.  I will add that I used a digital hour meter which can only be read when powered on.  I'm going to replace it with a quartz mechanical hour meter.  Regarding my warped swirler, there is a no-brand replacement available on Ebay for about $25 which I will probably try out.  Anyone have any experience with this one or similar?
