Hi, I am told i can replace my existing water separator ( with rubber priming pump on top) with the new water separator
( with electric priming motor on top )
has any one done so on mechanical cummins engine? if so please let me know how the wiring should be connected and to where?
thanks
Edmond
The positive for the new fuel pump should be run to an "ignition hot" place-- with fuse at source. Look at your remote start panel in the engine room.
there is the three wire connector for solenoid, one wire ground , one to hold the plunger up and one to pull the plunger up
the wire which holds the plunger up is hot with key in On position, can the positive be spliced to it? and the ground be connected to the frame ?
I haven't see the part and do not know how many wires it has

Hi everybody
I didn't receive a response on being able to connect an electric water separator to the wire supplying power to fuel shut off solenoid
Isn't it a good spot to get Power for electric water separator?
Edmond
No it will exceed what the wattage the circuit was intended for.
I agree.
Another issue (a larger one) would be if the new wire shorted out and blew the fuse-- the engine would STOP!
