Took 300 mile r/t 3 weeks ago. Ran great. Good power as always. First time out since then. Here are symptoms:
Started right up like always. Idles fine. Very smooth. Standing start acceleration 1st gear shifts into 2nd then hits a wall at 2000 rpm. Stays in 2nd gear at 2000 rpm @ 30 mph. In nuetral will rev no further than 2000 rpm. Checked accelerator linkage at engine. Appears to be opening all the way. I figured fuel starvation/blockage of some kind. Changed primary and secondary fuel filters. No change. Where do I go from here? Thanxs, Harry.
I answered you on facebook.
It may not shift unless it sees 2300 rpm.
Check the easy stuff first . Air filter , throttle full open , downshift cable , muffler imploded, etc.
the throttle pedal may leak and fault.
Poor fuel. Plugged filters .
If it ran fine before. Check the fuel system first. But it has to get enough rpm to shift.
