Has anyone installed a mach 5 waterpump in a Foretravel? Specifically a 1996-2002 U 320?
I currently have a shurflo 4048 and yes, it works just fine but i still want water pressure like my house. Will the piping in a foretravel handle the added pressure?
And yes again... i know they are pricey
Peter, you are in an RV, enjoy its limitations. Probably not would be my answer to your question. Dome-type water pressure regulators are also needed for city water supply.
I don't know about your plumbing pipe size, the Headhunter has a 1" inlet and outlet. The Headhunter pressure can be easily adjusted up or down. I think you will also want a 2 gallon surge tank.
Possible alternative is DAB Booster Silent 5M 120 VAC 60 Hz (https://www.dabpumps.com/en/products/multistage-centrifugal-and-self-priming-pumps/on-off-automatic-electronic-booster-system/booster-silent#description) Part # 60146274 I believe
Another possible alternative Grundfos Scala (https://product-selection.grundfos.com/us/products/scala?tab=products)
I wouldn't.
Do you have an expansion tank? Those are pressurized and can boost water pressure.
You can also remove the water restriction washers in your shower head to increase flow. That change can be dramatic but you'll use more water.
Hmm. Not really the answers i was looking for but i appreciate the honesty. I know newells and prevosts have them installed so the curiosity was there.
The thoughts were for full time living...
And yes i have a shurflo accumulator tank
I believe the new Foretravel's also use them.
Peter, maybe this will make you feel better. I put one in my IH-45 and love it. I added an accumulator, separate breaker and relay switch as well. The relay allows me to use the original pump switch on the Silverleaf panel. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.
