Hi everyone,
I have a new leak in the Aquahot.
Is it ok to drain the coolant from the Aquahot system and still drive the coach?
With the diesel and electric element switches turned OFF, drive all you want with no Aqua Hot coolant.
Thanks Rudy,
I'll be contacting you for an appt for repairs.
Hi everyone,
Just wanted to make sure this is the drain valve for the aquahot AHE 100 02S boiler fluid. Cant turn it by hand so wanted to make sure before I put a wrench on it.
Main coolant tank drain, about 16 gallons
Thanks Rudy!
When we drained ours, the old boiler fluid had quite the pungent stench, be prepared to leave the area or blame others :D
I was really surprised how clear the fluid was after draining a little over 15 gallons.
I had watched a few videos on YouTube and couldn't believe how black that stuff was when it was drained and was preparing for the worst.
When I drained my Aqua-hot for the bulkhead rebuild the antifreeze looked like it was new.
Good luck Frank. The color of the coolant depends on what anti-freeze/boiler fluid PO put in there I suppose. Tap water is sure death for any iron boiler. I posted a few times about coolant leaks and using stop leak to prolong the inevitable. The other day it looked like something out of the old testament with steam and black vomit coming out of the exhaust pipe....it's toast. So I just ordered a rebuilt unit from John Carrillo, and since I'm trapped in MT for work, will have to do the swap out myself and save a trip to see Rudy some other day. Happy trails. Woody.
Timing is everything, as you know I was in ND not too long ago and could have lent a hand.
