My dash AC stopped blowing cold today and my engine started running hotter than usual. I shutoff the AC and the 5.9 Cummins resumed it's normal 190 temperature.
I stopped at Love's in Tonopah, NV to check things out and make some lunch so I leveled the coach. Apparently the rear wheels came off the ground and the RV rolled backward off the jacks. See photo.
Problem 1. What to do about the jack situation?
Problem 2. How should I troubleshoot the AC problem? I don't necessarily need the dash air but I don't want a belt burning off.
Missing photos.
2. Start engine, put dash fan on high. Go back to engine and see if compressor is running. If compressor is running, what is air temp coming from dash.
Report findings
Thanks Jack. With AC on and engine running, the dash air is warm. Unfortunately on this coach I can't see the AC compressor through the back or side service doors. I would have to raise the bed and I can't see doing that here at this location.
Then I would just leave the AC off. It has not thrown the belt, compressor clutch is not frozen. Until you can check compressor, or have someone with gauges that can check freon level. If problem has happened over time, then probably freon leak
Thanks Jack. I'm trying to get in touch with HWH and it's impossible. I have no idea what to do. I spent about 15 minutes filling out a form rather than calling. Now they are apparently closed.
If you can get them to retract then they should be able to swing down straight and swing back up to where they belong.
Silly me. All I had to do was retract the jacks. ^.^d
