What is the best method and material for the engine compartment blanket replacement? jc 99 u320 40ft
This is sort of related..... I replaced most of the plastic washers that hold the "blanket" in place. Most were broken on our 2003 coach and some had even melted. I asked the factory if metal washers could be used, but they recommended staying with the plastic. I found similar washers at Lowes, but the hole was too large. The factory can supply them. I don't recall the price, but it was much less than the shipping cost. I replaced about 40 washers.

One choice to look at is:

You can do a little research on the internet for sound deadening materials. Lots of info on marine/boating sites. Can be quite expensive. I'm sure the factory can supply it too. My experience for application was to use contact adhesive backed with stainless fender washers and screws.
