We've been lucky so far, but I know that one day some of these rope lights will burn out. So I am curious. Has this happened to anyone as yet? Were they difficult to replace?
George,
The rope lights last a very long time. When it's time to replace them, just call FT parts with the length needed. You just need to splice two wires. Often the difficult part is taking apart the cabinet far enough to get to the splice. You can do a search for rope lights. Others have found cheaper sources, but you have to get the right diameter and amp rating so the string fits in the existing clamps and look the same as the other strings.

If and when I need a new section, I'll contact the factory. In the long run it is probbly cheaper to go that route.
Good question, we have several strands that have various lights out so we'll need to replace them... will be in Nac July or so for annual service and will check on them. They sure do give a nice ambiance in the evening...
