Title: 12 V compressor
Post by: John Lavery on June 09, 2010, 05:45:10 pm
I have a 02 U320, and when the 12V compressor comes on what is it filling? Is it the coach leveling system, the slide rubber blatters???  So much to digest during delivery and only recently found out the compressor had not been running (don't know how long it had been off)  because the breaker had been tripped. When I reset the breaker it came on and now it sounds loud to me. Can anyone give an explanation of the compressor, functions, etc., can't find any info in any manuals I got with the coach.  Thanks John

Hi John,
The 12v compressor, technically, fills its' own storage tank.
The storage tank supplies air to the room bladder seals and the air leveling system.

Good luck,

John,
The Aux Compressor is filling the Slide Bladders and the coach leveling.
There is a pressure switch on the compressor that turns it on.
On mine it is set to open at 90psi & close at 70-80 psi.
I added an air gauge on it to monitor it.
I have an "AIR TANK" Rocker Switch on the drivers side left panel.
I can turn on the compressor with this rocker switch & it will fill the front & rear tanks if they are low.
(The gauges on your dash)
I usually fill the tanks with that switch before i start the engine so I dont have to idle very long before I can go.

JC,

On the '99 U320 the air compressor is mounted near the ceiling behind your inverter.  Its only function is to run the HWH when the engine is off.

Brett

At what pressure does the Electric air compressor come on to supply air to the system??
How much pressure will the compressor provide??

I have never heard mine come on at all

I had mine come on at 30 psi and it shuts off at 60 psi.

Did anyone ever respond (besides Barry) regards the location of any Circuit Breaker or fuse(s) for the 12V HWH compressor? Looking for the same-thing on our '98 U320.

Should be on the breaker panel in the storage bay.
Look at drawing B-2126 for reference.

on my 2000 GV320 its behind the fiberglass cover 3 wing nuts takes if off.  The top breaker in mine
is for the HWH air compressor.  Very eazy to just push in and reset.  Had it replaced once at the factory.
