In a separate topic Brett Wolfe described upgrading his camera and Javalina display. My camera/monitor system has been almost worthless since I bought the coach. Replacing the camera didn't help, the display is probably the problem (I think). Regardless, I want a new fully functional color/day/night system.
Furthermore, my tank monitoring system was very flaky in spite of replacing the black and grey sensors and doing a recalibration at FOT last Fall. They worked fine for just a few months.
Thus I am eager to upgrade the whole system, that is replace the camera, Javalina display, AND the Audit box. In March, at the FMCA convention in Albuquerque, I bought and had installed the SeaLevel 709 tank monitoring system. They mount external to the tank and inductively measure the fluid level. The display also shows the output of the existing Propane level sensor. I am very pleased with this system. It is very accurate, with a great display, and the sensors are external to the tanks.
Taking Brett's approach it appears that I can now upgrade the camera/display AND get rid of the Javelina and the Audit box.
As I see it the only functionality that I would lose would be the external temp, compass reading, and a voltage reading. All of these are don't cares or easily obtained independently.
Do anybody see any problems with throwing out the Audit system also?

I can't give you good advice on eliminating the Audit system. I retained mine-- replacing two of the three components: camera and monitor while retaining the Audit "brain" as well as on/off and selector (camera/tank level) buttons.
The monitor I used DOES have two separate video inputs (easy to select between them with a button on the front of the monitor), so it may be possible to set up the camera and your new tank monitor system on two separate video inputs.

If you don't care about the temperature, compass, and voltage readings, you don't need the Audit box at all.
I have completely removed mine. I made my own tank level gauge which works great and my camera system is totally independent. On my U-270 I never had the temperature or compass, so that wasn't even a consideration.

Can you provide pictures of these sensors? How did you do the installation.
Here is a picture of the Black & Grey tanks from the passenger side of the coach. The two black & green vertical strips, one on each tank on each side of the distribution system, are the sensors. Actually with our tall tanks it took two sensors placed end to end for each tank. Their system makes getting any length trivial just by clipping the appropriate tabs on the sensors. The green lines are the circuit wiring.
I was lazy and not very familiar with my tanks and where to place the sensors. Thus I let the vendor use his own installer, a young very nice couple that came along just for that purpose. I don't remember the price but it was well worth it. The fellow is an independent RV service tech that has done hundreds of installations. His cute wife took the week off and came along to be his gofer. They were really hopping with all the units that were sold.
Like most with the old Javalina system, had ours upgrades twice to get to a workable system, now have very sharp clear with ir lighting, just wonderful EXCEPT a car that is 30 ft behind you is barely visable, looks like he is 300 ft to the rear.
Otherwise all great including the temp, tanks and voltage
