Title: someone on rv.net needs advice
Post by: Tom Lang on June 30, 2010, 07:03:27 pm
I found this on rv.net.  Maybe one of us can go there and help.

My question regards the necessity of an add-on braking system such as an engine brake or exhaust brake. Specifically, I'm looking at a Foretravel U-280 which has a GVWR of 28,000 pounds. (300 HP Cummins with Allison 6-speed). It has all disc air brakes. Most of the units I've seen are equipped with a PAC brake or other exhaust brake. Looking for some advice.

Also, anyone have any experience regarding the difficulty and price of adding an exhaust brake. Thanks.
