Foretravel Dealers

I have a friend that is looking for a newer MH, he has been looking at FT's and likes what he is seeing, but he told me they have no Dealers listed on the Foretravel motorcoach wed side, have they let all the dealers go.

The website does show only the contact information for Foretravel of Texas, so it appears they have made or are making some changes to their sales model.

It's interesting to see how significantly the model has changed in recent years - I don't see too many "standard" floorplans or interior packages as was done in years past.  Most of the coaches being built these days seem to be custom (which of course all the Phenix are), even the spec coaches.  It seems they are going after a different target market/customer.

Foretravel has not had any dealers for at least two years or more.

There are a few independent motorhome dealers that just happen to sell used Foretravel motorhomes.  One such dealer in Nacogdoches is Motorhomes of Texas.

No George, you are not in a time warp.  The dealers went away when the economy went south.  Don't know the details and don't want to either. 

Foretravel puts out a excellent product and they are a number of SOB dealerships who are familiar enough with them and friendly toward the line that there should not be problems obtaining service.  As for warranty work, you will have to ask Foretravel how that works.

When I was at Tenn RV for some service work a couple years ago. ONe of the techs I have know for a long time said they had more money tied up in those two new FT s than they had in all the rest of the inventory. That and the fact that FT used to put them on consignment at those dealers and you had to deal with FT if you were bidding on a new one there even.

Only know that Keystone RV in PA honors the Motorcader discount, beyond that they do ok on some things but for any major issues I head to MOT like alot of others do.

Last time I was there a couple months ago, Parliament Coach in Clearwater, Fl. still claimed to be a Foretravel dealer, and honored Motorcade Club discounts.

Looking at the service network on the Foretravel home page, Parliament Coach in Clearwater, Fl. was the ONLY one that was listed as sales and service. All others were just service and/or parts.

OK Folks - we've been at Camp FOT for several weeks upon purchasing our gal here who was dearly loved -

NOW, I'm going to tell ya we are not partial, thou it may seem that way. Our business background is sales/marketing, with Jim having 32 years in upper management with Hallmark Cards and our owning retail stores in major malls - now this is worth a Windy's Frosty

IMHO, if you want to purchase a FT then make it simple for yourselves and come to where they are "BORN"

Here is how it goes from how I see it: they have new, trade ins and consigned. They do a PDI on all coaches, if the coach is consigned, as ours was, then there is an agreement of who does what as to repairs. For us it was so nice/simple.

The staff, shop personnel here are very professional, yet make one feel very comfortable and at home if customer so chooses to be easily welcome to observe/learn from exceptionally trained staff - to co-mingle with these great guys is wonderful - for us this had been the best aspect of purchasing our FT since I have to deal with everything of our RVing due to Jim's age/health - For us to make this huge leap to a more comfortable coach the staff here at FT has made this possible to give me the confidence to handle this beautiful gal, she is one to be respected yet I've learned so many of her idiosyncrasies as well as her preferred cruising speed of 74mph, much more than mine, but I respect it and she and I will have a talk, but I'm afraid she will win on this one - I'll catch up  

Yes there are many "dealers" out there, but when it comes down to purchasing a coach as a FT, which is extremely unique above all the rest - Then WHY go anywhere else - I'm blind sighted but feel taking the "best" way out is the easiest -  In My Humble Opinion

We've had our coach for about ten years.
Went to the factory the first year and then in the third year for a major structural problem that they solved.
Haven't needed a dealer since then and don't plan to need one in the future.
Coach has 225+K on it and shows no sign of slowing down.
Mechanically oriented can do a lot of their minor repairs which seems to be the repairs that are needed.
If it is major I would return to the factory or MOT and get something fixed.
Not having dealers has not been a problem for us.
