Jor,
The (adjustable) input device  for your HWH Leveling system.
It is how the HWH knows when your coach achieves level.

Neal is correct. Don't mess with it unless your coach isn't leveling properly. It is a real pain to readjust.

I'm assuming this (also under the couch) is the computer for the HWH. Correcto? Also, with the leveling sensor, does that mean that if your coach isn't leveling properly you could make certain it is level and then adjust the plate so the control board would indicate level? Thanks. (just saw your post, Kent. I can't help myself.)

Yes, that is how you would adjust the leveling to let the HWH computer know that it is level.

LEVELING SENSING UNITS
The level sensing unit senses the level position of the vehicle.
The level sensing unit uses four mercury switches to determines the position of the vehicle.
When a side or end of the vehicle is low, the mercury in the appropriate switch will short the contacts in the that switch.
This will complete a ground circuit for a yellow level indicator light in the touch panel.
The sensing unit is a five wire unit. One wire is a common ground for the four mercury switches.
The other four wires are for the four individual switches.

The sensing unit is mounted to the vehicle with three screws.

There is a spring between the sensing unit and the mounting surface. There is a sticker on the sensing unit that indicates the proper mounting position for the sensing unit. The body of the sensing unit is neutral and does not need to be grounded.

The unit does need to be mounted to a good solid surface.

It should not be exposed to heat sources. If the sensing unit is not mounted and adjusted correctly it can cause improper leveling.

It could be under your kitchen drawer on the floor instead of the couch.

Bill, this vast amount of knowledge I keep under my cap is from being waaay to curious. Remember I am the guy that spent $2,000 to fix a heating problem I didn't even have. I was a tinkerer since childhood but look at what I've learned. I guess the one thing I didn't learn from trial and error was "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" or I would have considerably more retirement funds.

On our coach, the sensor is behind the ice maker in the kitchen cabinet pedestal.

I adjusted my sensor unit by carefully leveling the coach according to bubble levels placed around the coach. Then my spouse watched the lights on the HWH panel while I tweaked the sensor. I tried to find the position midway between illumination of the opposing sensor lamps.

The adjustment is very sensitive. One quarter turn of a screw may go from out of level in one direction to out of level in the other direction. If you are impatient or have a problem making very fine adjustments leave it alone.

I'll repeat the refrain, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!" However, like Kent and some others on this forum, I often figure I might be able to make it "a little better." I like to find the edges of performance and comfort so I know if I am in the place I want to be.
