Calibrating tank level gauges

Hello everyone,
I am new to the forum. I purchased a 1999 U285 Special (U270) in may and have been enjoying our coach greatly. I have learned so much about my coach these last few weeks reading the Foreforum. Thanks so much to those who make this site available.
My question is, my tank level gauges for all three tanks read half full when they are full. Is there a calibration procedure for the tank sensors? My Javalina monitor says its a model 96 I believe if that helps any.
Thanks in advance for any advise you could offer.

Regards, Mark Zettek

Good Question.

Not sure which Audit System Monitor you have. Best to check with James Triana or Javelina folks first. My '99 U320 has the 8T8 Audit Monitor. My drawing shows that pin 12 is the calibration pin for the audit system.

Ben  recalibrated our tanks recently and it works great now. He followed those instructions that Bob just posted and he had no problems.

Thanks for the input everyone. I have been trying to find the connector. Is it on the back of the monitor? If so do I have to remove the dash cover to get behind it? Thanks, Mark

Bob,
I just looked up the model in the manual. It is a 9T6 model and my calibration pin is in pin 12 also. I just need to figure out where the CPU is located to find the connector.  Mark

Mark,

Your Javelina CPU is mounted on a vertical board inside the doghouse in the center of the dash.  Lift the cover over the dash, then lift up the cover on the doghouse.  The board is at the very front and slides in two wood channels.

Thanks Brett for the info.
When I arrived home today I did what you said and viola. I pulled up on the doghouse ,as you call it, and it popped right open and there was the CPU. I also found a dash air filter in there that I didnt know was there. I recently purchased the coach in May and have learned more about my coach in the last week reading this forum than I think I learned reading the Foretravel Manual. I look forward to reading the postings every day. We have only had it out for a few short trips thus far but are hoping to head north this month for a longer trip. Hope to meet up with some of you all on our journey. All I have to do know is get the house batteries replaced and load up and go. I do have one switch on the dash that I am unsure of but I will ask that on another posting. Thanks again everyonone.
