Coolant tank leak

We recently discovered a leak in the black metal coolant tank---it is not the plastic overflow tank.

Has anybody else experience a problem with this?

I have been off the Yahoo list for quite sometime and just discovered this forum a few minutes ago!!!

Where is the leak on the pressure tank?  Near a hose, sight glass, cap, seam, etc.

If it is a pin hole leak or at a seam it can be mig or tig metal welded...if you were on the road traveling it possibly could be "JB Weld" to stop leak.

Yes. FT "discovered" just such a leak in my 07 Nimbus a year & a half ago.
Insisted there was no way to repair the tank and must be replaced. They charged
$491 for a replacement tank and 1 hour of labor to change. The odd thing is
that it had never leaked a drop until they discovered it in their shop.

The leak is on the bottom edge,  either a seam, or if it is shaped, where it is bent.  I have pictures of the drip, which I sent to Foretravel.  You can feel the crack.  Jerry went to a couple of places locally but could not find anybody willing to attempt a repair.  Hopefully, the new one will arrive today, install, and be on the road tomorrow.

In NAC the week of Oct. 4.

Jurhee,  Just a suggestion.
If that tank has to be replaced keep the old one, chances are that someone here can figure out a repair for it.  You then will have a spare or it can be sold/gifted to the next person that needs the same part.
If that tank is anything like the metal one on my 95 there is no reason that it cannot be repaired. Even if its plastic it can probably be fixed.
Good luck
