Trik l start vs boost

The trik l start  on the isolator is suppose to keep the chasis bat up. What happens if I hit the boost the night before I leave in the AM? In the cooler weather I usually will leave the engine preheat switch on, but don't feel that is necessary when the temps don't get below 50.  Comments? John

I do not need the boost since I installed the trik L start. As to hard starts I ran a second set of cables and had my ECM updated and now cold weather is not an issue any longer. It will spin up and fire up with no boost. The boost is only 100 amp boost not the whole of the house batteries and will not start the coach by itself.

Preheat is fine and I do that but my last two coaches were fixed and starts are easy now.

I too, was having hard starts in AM on my 99 u320, weather cold or hot, and was leaving the boost on the night before to help charge the start batterys.  After talking to John Sichenze at grandvention in Branson I added additional battery cables to starter and engine ground, cleaned and tightened existing connections and am amazed at the results. The alternator is now putting out 13.8v. compaired to 13.2v.(due to resistance in ground cable),even the oil pressure gage is reading right now(according to my silverleaf).  What a difference $40.00 worth of cable and ends can make.......

Where did you and John run the cables from and to?  A picture or two would be really appreciated.

The positive cable runs from a positive battery terminal to the starter solenoid on starter(same terminal the existing cable is at).  The negative, from battery terminal ground to any mounting point handy on the engine/ transmission.  I used 4.5 ft. for positive cable and 2 ft. for negitive cable, hooked ground cable to transmission.  Make sure your factory junctions are clean and tight and check existing ground cable at rear of starter to engine block. (remove from engine block clean block surface and cable terminal then re install
