How Do I Close the Step

All right experts, I have looked everywhere for a switch to close the step on my 93, U300 after we leave the coach. I know it is air powered and that there is a compressor under the steps but I can't find a switch.

HELP!

Kent,

I think you have to add the switch if you want the steps to close after you close the door, someone posted on here a couple of weeks back how to do it. I have a 92 u280 and there is no switch.

Now that you mention it, I do remember a post about a step but at the time I was not even thinking of getting the U300. I will try to search for it. Thanks!

Kent,

I believe that is the default position.  My guess is that the thinking at Foretravel was that if you are in the coach and it is not running and go to step outside, you will want the step in the down position.

Ours works that way and we like it.  Your preference may be different.

As stated in the other posts, when it is parked and we are away, I want the step closed to prevent it from damage as well as to keep out the critters. I will perform the Beamalarm modification and install a the switch. When we are in it, we will leave it down the way Foretravel intended.

Oops.  Looks like I missed that post.  I'll do a search for it.  Hopefully it is something I can do.  I'm on a roll lately with mechanical and electrical fixes.

George, you can do it.
Air steps:
Modify outside air step wiring to allow step to retract when ignition is off...

Electric steps : See attached
