Back up monitor trouble.

Hello everyone I am posting on behalf of my grandpa he is not computer literate so im trying to help him. Heres the problem, I believe it is a 98 foretravel and the previous owner changed the in dash monitor from a black and white CRT to a legacy Lm56 color LCD. Now the back up camera displays fine but when he switches to his monitors(tank, compass and altimeter) everything is mirrored and all messed up. The system is audit I believe 760 and 1150, I don't really remember for sure but if those numbers are needed I can get them. We looked at the wiring diagram and everything seems fine. ANy info would be great thanks everyone.

Computer guru, ( don't know your name)

If you look closely the camera is in reverse too, this is due to the signal that comes from the audit system. The monitor has to be able to  display a reverse image. The Legacy LM 56 does appear to have that capability. If you look around you can find instructions on the computer if you know what to look for.

If you don't understand what to look for or want to cut out the possibility of getting the wrong thing call Tim at RV Cams #877-378-2267 he can set you up with the right stuff the first time. (I don't have stock in his company) He has helped out several here on this site. He is very knowledgeable on F/T and can talk you through the process in language even a novice can follow.

You should be able to get into the menu with the remote or from the front panel settings. That LCD has the ability to set a reverse image.

Just talked to a friend down at our local audio/security equipment company and he said that the 1st generation Legacy could flip the pic so it could be mounted to the ceiling but couldn't display a mirror image. Don't know if this will help just some extra info.

Thank you all very much, im not sure if he has the remote for the screen but I can ask him. I figured it was some sort of issue with it going from crt to LCD.  We had his car parked behind the RV and in the camera mode it was displayed on the same side no mirror effect, thats what had me confused. I will have him call that number, little stuff like this drives both of us crazy we need our vehicles to be right:) Thank you all again for the help and I extend his thanks as well.

No, it will not be an issue with going from CRT to LCD.

The only issue is whether the monitor or camera is reverse image.  With a camera and monitor that offer reverse image capability, it is easy to set up the system.  Basically, the output from the Audit (tank gauges) will determine whether your monitor or camera should be reverse image.

And, indeed for any advice on these systems, call Tim at RVcams-- he da man!

Ok grandpa called tim, got alot of information and its basically what you all have said. Its is good to know that the audit system is the point of reference for what the screen shoud be. We have to track down a remote control for the monitor so we can get into the menu to switch it to a reversed image. Thanks again everyone.
