Don't feel bad - you are not alone!  We learned a similar lesson:

When running the shore cord underneath your coach (in our case, the Sichenze's extension cord we'd borrowed), make sure it isn't hung up on the Aquahot exhaust  :-[  ::)

Man, this topic could go on forever.  I once paid $150 (reimbursed by insurance) to have an RV tech come out to a rest stop on I90 in SD after a couple of hours rest.  After about an 30 mins. of checking things, it turned out to be a loose battery terminal connection...duh?

I drove this way for a year!  Upon the usual seasonal cleaning of the terminals, I discovered that the + cable clamp on the battery was broken (the type that is mounted one over the other...hard to see w/o removal).  No wonder it was loose.  Again, duh?  >:(

On one of my "senior moments", I drove out of my neighborhood, happened to look in the rear view monitor, saw a black "ribbon" trailing the coach.  Duh!  I forgot to disconnect the shore power cord, which ripped the face off the 50 amp power box as I drove off!  DUMB!

Don,
It was after you told me that story that I put in that relay to warn me if I am still plugged in after I turn on the ignition.  8)
It can happen to anyone. I just dont want it to be me. ???

I removed the shroud from the rear AC and attempted to repair it.  It was beyond help so I ordered a new one and was told it would arrive in about a week.
I sat in the house listening to the rain when it dawned on me that the rear AC was uncovered.... A quick trip to the coach with a bucket saved me from a very wet mattress and unhappy DW.  ???

A friend of mine was was backing his MH out of his storage awhile back and failed to notice his rollup shop door wasn't all the way up. Caught the rear ac and took it completly off the roof along with skylite and a couple antenas. Of course he also had to replace his roll up door as well. Anyone that gets off the sofa and does things will experience blunders.

I have a good friend  that has a coach thats built on a peterbuilt extended truck frame . It didn't have enough horse power so he spent big bucks , had it run way up . Made  him smile  ! He bought a new subaru  .got all the good blue ox stuff , hitched up , and took off for Alaska . he never made it out of Virginia . he went about 85 miles stopped for lunch .  went to check his new car , looked fine . He noticed  a  funny smell , opened the hood , and was able to look through the motor and see the pavememt .!!! he rembered that , after checking that the car was still in LOW  GEAR . end of story  right ?? not just yet . He bought another new Subaru , hooked up and off he went .------------------------some where in ohio , same thing  .Well he now has a third brand new Subaru  / he was hoping warrenty would cover it  . You know the ans to that . I just can't stop my smile on this one . P S  true story.  never made it to Alaska or even Canada  .

Anyone THAT bright most likely towed it in reverse in an attempt to restore the engine back to better than new?

The thing that keeps comming to my mind is ,  HOW  MANY  RPM"S did that poor subaru  turn while being towed at 70 hph ?  Must of sounded like a jet ! for a short while and then the parts flew .
