Aqua Hot questin

I drained all my water and my motor home is in storage with no electricity.  I was reading somewhere and now I can't find it that you need to turn the aqua hot off at a main break or switch if you are going to travel with no water so it won't harm the system.  Does this sound right or do I just need to make sure it is not turned on at the regular switches inside in the kitchen area?  I also have the propane turned off.  If it does need to be switched off at a master switch where is the switch?  I checked the fuse panel and there is no fuse for the aqua hot label.  My water usually gets hot just from the engine, so do I just need to put some water back in it to be on the safe side?

The way I read your post you are crusin for a brusin.

The Aqua Hot tank is full of antifreeze.  It can be used or not used as you wish as long as the tank is full of antifreeze.

Now for the killer problem.  You drained freshwater from your coach is what I hear you saying.  I can guarantee you that there is enough fresh water in the 50 foot hot water heating loop in the Aqua Hot unit to freeze and split the tubing in the loop.

Once the tubing is split, the fix is a new Aqua Hot unit, $9,000 to $10,000 if you hire it replaced.

You can avoid all of this by filling the hot water heating loop with pink RV antifreeze - not pink Camco boiler antifreeze.

There are several ways to do this.  Pick the one easiest for you.  I like opening the intake line to the water pressure pump, connecting a line submerged in gallon jugs of pink RV antifreeze, turn the pump on and open any one hot water faucet till pink antifreeze flows out.  Close faucet, turn pump off and reconnect intake to the coaches water line.  You are now good to go.

You may visit the coach at anytime and run the Aqua Hot or run the engine to warm it for your visit with no harm as long as no fresh water faucet is opened and the pressure pump is left off.

Hope this helps you.

Wow.  Rudy just saved you $10,000 and gave us the correct how-to for this procedure.

Sooo-o-o-o glad to be fulltiming; and, using everything 24/7/365.  I know not all Foretravel owners have this opportunity; but, if it becomes a desire, opportunity or goal, run (with planning), don't walk to take it! ;D :)) :P

Thanks, it got to around 28-29 degrees here for only a few hours a couple of nights and the motor home is in a shed so hopefully nothing was damaged.
