General Foretravel question

Is this the foretravel forum that used to be on Yahoo circa Nov/Dec of 2009?

Yes it is. But it is better, easier to use and loaded with information. Glad to have you with us. Come back often.  We all love questions.

Welcome to ForeForums!

It's the follow-on to the Yahoo one.  Almost all of the Yahoo posts are here, too, so we preserved all that knowledge.  They're in their own board.

Yahoo Archive

All the old photo albums were copied over, too.

Enjoy!

When we do a search on here, does it also search the Yahoo archives?

I just looked at the old Yahoo forum. and the most recent (last ever?) post is dated Dec. 15.  Is that forum officially dead now?

It depends on how you do the search.

If you use the little bar to the top right, you can select within topic, board, or all boards.  All boards will also search the Yahoo archive.

If you use the "search" option from the menu bar, it defaults to all boards, but you can expand that to select which boards to search.  Select "advanced search" below the text box and then you can select the boards you want to search

The Yahoo archive here has all* 40,000+ posts through late July 2010.  There was very minor traffic on the actual Yahoo board at that point, 99 and 44/100ths percent was about ForeForums, so Steve didn't pull any later posts.  I believe the Yahoo board was officially closed to posting in early to mid December 2010.

* All posts with the exception of obvious duplicates that Steve found.  Plus almost all have been properly threaded, all the "do you Yahoo?" and "sent from my Blackberry" trailers, and excess quotation, etc., stripped to make them easier to read/follow.

I left over a year ago. Those that stayed were awful adamant about rejecting this forum.

Tom,
The moderators of the Yahoo forum eliminated the "new posts" feature effective the end of December, 2010. It is still there and can be accessed for its archives.
