Mystery Switch

I am working on a friends U295 to help him get it ready to sell.
I have found in the refrigerator access door a switch at the bottom of the coils.  It is not labeled and I have not started to Trace out the wiring. I'm attaching a photo but it does not show the switch well.
Any Ideas ?

Ya, I am not sure I see the switch you are talking about in the photo.

Is it 12 VDC or 120 VAC?

Most likely suspect is a booster fan for the refrigerator.  Look up the coils with a flashlight and see if a fan/fans are present.

Try turning it on and see what turns on.

Also, remove those paper labels-- about all they are good for is retaining moisture when they get wet.

Brett, Directly above the two paper labels and below the boiler section is the switch.  It does nothing that I can hear.
I know the water feed to the icemaker is broken off and will have to be fixed.  Is this a switch to control the heat strip attached to the ice maker water line ?  It appears to be 12 volt,

Gary,

That is what ours does. The heat trace wraps around the fill valve and then around the  fill line.

OK, That makes sense, I still have to replace the water line but I am not sure that I will replace the heater for him since he is going to sell it.  I may just leave it as is and new owner can do what he wants.

Does anyone have a lead as to what the P/N is for the heat tracing. It is not shown in the parts manual. Mine is missing and I have had continuous freezing issues with the tubing when the outside air temperature gets down below 50°  THANKS!!!!!

Call FT parts.  I think it's a stock item.
