Rust

We have spent several winters on South Padre Island. The salt air has caused rust on the under carriage. Need recommendations to attack this culprit.

Spray with CorrosionX (red can).

Believe he is talking about attacking the rust that is already there and using a treatment to apply topically like some that were mentioned in a thread recently.  I have already preached to him that I use CorrosionX for everything short of a dessert topping.  Great stuff!!

How does Ospho compare to Gem Rust Killer and PickleX 20?  Found it!!  this is the thread on "RUST" that I was thinking of.

Rusting undercarriage components are a nightmare.  These must be addressed ASAP as these coaches should be roadworthy for many years.  If the extent is great, as when parked near salt water, I would go to someone like Xtreme and have them make an assessment.  They would likely do the Ospho and/or mechanical rust removal and undercoat or paint treatment to restore to original condition.
 
I don't think that I could do a professional grade job as some of these undercarriage areas are hard to reach without professional tools.

It is to late for Salt Away, but many of the Blue Beacons carry this  stuff.    Salt-Away Gallon Concentrate.  They have some other good products at that store where I found the info on Salt-Away.  I planning on stopping and getting her washed and having the Salt-Away applied when I go by while on the way home next week.  Think it is a good idea for anyone coming back from any salt water area.

"Salt's is used to dissolve and remove salt from any surface. It is water based, non-hazardous and biodegradable. It protects metals from corrosion by removing the salt that promotes corrosion. It also contains rust inhibitors that help protect the surface once the salt has been removed.

Salt will cause metals to corrode. It takes very little salt on a surface to increase your chances of corrosion. Removing salt from the surface reduces your chance of corrosion."

AKA Salt Away.  The Rust Store - Solutions for All Rust Problems or you can get it done at certain Blue Beacon Truck Washes listed in the following link:  Undercarriage Rinse.

But as I stated, it is not going to stop your rust.  It is to stop the salt from attacking the metal and creating rust.  But it is suppose to inhibit rust and corrosion.
