Engine Door Lubrication

I just noticed another lubrication point not mentioned in any preventative maintenance I have read.
I saw a zerk fitting on my engine door that needed some grease  ???

Barry, While you are lubing the door inspect the rivets that hold the hinges on, mine were partially broken, I replaced them with SS bolts.

The grease fittings on the top of the engine door are there so the big round steel part that rotates with door opening has lubrication at the bracket that is mounted up behind top of mattress. A very important lube (spray lube) point is at each end of the same round steel part.

We just removed our whole heavy engine door and steel support parts so we no longer have this part to lubricate. Xtreme Paint & Graphics (Custom RV and Motorhome Painting, Custom RV Paint Design, RV Paint Repair, ) has removed most of the weight of the door and is re-mounting the door with top hinge and low PSI air struts. Also the lower part has been split off side to side below the license plate and will remain in place when engine door is lifted. No more danger of a falling door, either. New rectangular door handle that matches our bay door lock replaces our push-in and turn handle. Photos are at their web site under "Work in Progress".

Can't wait to see the final pictures. Incredible is all I can think to describe your coach... What direction are you heading after Nac? Would love to see it in person.
