Salellite TV problem

Let me start this with the statement that I am new to satellite TV. The 94' Fortravel that we purchased last summer had direct TV in it with an old receiver that did not have a receiver ID. Direct TV would not allow us to reuse this old receiver so I made contact with a used receiver company that had an RCA receiver with the low speed data port so I could use it to align the roof top Daltron dish. I have the "new" receiver up and running but am getting an error message of "Wrong Satellite" when I get a good signal right on the point in the sky where Direct TV has their satellite. I verified with Direct TV that the it was their satellite that I was getting a signal form at the coorodinates that I gave them. Direct TV was liitle help as the access card is activated but the equipment is owned by me not leased from them. The receiver seller knows little about the receiver except how to repair them.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what may be the problem?

How do you know that you are pointed to DirecTV satellite at 101 degrees?

Is the receiver setup with the correct antenna and does it show you have adequate signal strengths at 101.
There are many satellites up there at 22,000 miles above sea level and a lock on an incorrect satellite is possible.

I believe it is an 18" DATRON dish with a single LNB. I took mine off the roof as the controls for it were gone and the wires were cut off just outside the base. You will have to go into the setup for the DirecTV and change your antenna callout to 18"dish with single LNB. Then try for your orientation using the zip code setup that tells elevation and orientation (this if you cannot autoseek)

Thanks for the suggestions I did no specifically look for a single LNB seetting but will look tomorrow. I know that the satellite is right as it gives it shows it as 101(A) transponder 10, which according to Direct TV is correct.
