GIRARD 2000

Dear FT Folks

I have a Girard 2000 awning. Last Nov. I was having control problems so I changed out the control box per Girard and it has worked fine till today. I now find that when I want to bring it in or run it out, it well only move about a foot then stop. I changed out the new control box with extra one that I had on the shelf. It stiil acts the same. Now there is a Current limiting device in line to the motor . Has anyone had any experience with the divice? I guess I could buy pass current limiting divice to see what happens. I have had poor luck with Girard awning controls. Any help would be appreciated.  All The Best  Karl

Been there, done that in 2009.  The test for a bad current limiter is to bypass it, but you'll want to replace the current limiter if it turns out to be bad.

Dear Michelle

Thank you for getting to me. I think I well try bypassing the limit control switch and see what happens. It seams like I am always having trouble with with my Girard...

All The Best to you and Steve.      Karl
