TranSynd pricing

Thinking that an authorized Allison service center would be too high, I went to a couple of local truck centers to purchase some TranSynd.  The first place I tried, International Truck, wanted $21 per quart.  They said it was better to purchase it by the gallon..the price..$78.  :o  The second place, Kenworth, wanted $350 for a 5 gallon bucket.  Totally dismayed, I called Stewart & Stevenson, the nearest authorized Allison service center.  Their price..a whopping $32.53 per gallon.  :)  Definitely worth the 45 mile drive, even in the Suburban.

Do you already have TranSynd in the transmission?  If so, this fluid change should last you many, many, thousands of miles!  Well worth the cost.  300,000 miles or 48 months.  Did you check their express lube choices.  I got a real good deal at the local Allison Express Lube located at a Chevy Dealer.

Sounds about right for Transynd.  There are other brands of synthetic transmission fluid that are now approved by Allison.  For a long time Transynd was the only one Allison approved though.

The Chevy pickups with the the Duramax diesel have the Allison Transmission.  Now do you thing they going to let that slip through their fingers.  I was extremely surprised to find that the local big dealer had the lowest price around when I did my fluid/filter change.  None of the authorized Allison big truck shops in Buffalo came near the Chevy dealers price. I've dealt with them before and they are not noted for being reasonable, but they were when it came to the Allison fluid change.  I think they brought a lot of Transynd 295 and found out that the pickup owners did not put on the mileage that they thought they would, but that is only a guess on my part.
