Car Dolly

Hi folks, This question Is for a tow vehicle I would like to pull behind my motor home on a car dolly. It's my daughters 2010 ford 150 pickup truck. Does anyone have experience pulling this type of vehicle? Everything I pull is front wheel drive, so I have never been In this situation. Thanks.

Standard or Automatic,if standard you can pull 4 down, if auto you will need a drive shaft disconnect or a lube pump.

     Mitch, my research shows that a 2010 F150 Ford truck cannot be towed 4 down or forward on a dolly and not reccomment to be towed backward on a dolly.  I have a 2010 150 and have looked at every possible method.  The only way that it can be done with a $ 1000 + alteration to the drive shaft plus the disconnect kit and was told that the shaft would never be balanced.  This determination applied to a four or two wheel drive F150.

I'm no master mechanic, but I see no mechanical reason why a rear wheel drive truck could not be towed backwards on a tow dolly. Front wheel bearings work in both directions, and as long as the steering column locks firmly in the neutral steer position, I can't really see what difference it makes. I'm open to being corrected, however, if I am missing something here.

I can see a handling problem, awful lot of  weight on the axle that is all the way to the rear of the combination, with little weight on the dolly itself.  I have seen people doing it on a dolly, and it sure did not appear that they were in complete control of their vehicles.  And the drivers appeared to have their hands full.
