Sometime brake lights problem

After driving in a rainstorm our brake lights malfunction. I then had to go under and wiggle the bayonet connectors to restablish contact. Yesterday I replaced the connectors (female ends only) and made darn sure they are tight. There is no sealer on the switches so can I/should I put something like Liquid Electrical Tape on them? One of the connectors had indications of corrosion on it in the form of green slime.
Another "slight" problem: no running tail lights--driver's side only. I removed the light assembly from inside the engine compartment, checked the circuits on the printed plastic circuit board. The copper path for the run lights had eroded enough to prevent a circuit. I installed a jumper to bypass this problem. Is it possible to find/buy replacements for the light assembly(the part that has the circuit and bulb holders) only? I would think there would be color deterioration which would mandate changing both sides if I had to buy the entire assembly.
