Marie Fore passed away recently

I'm so sorry that we didn't see this earlier; I just found it on the Nacogdoched Daily Sentinel website.

Ruth Marie Garrett Fore

A celebration of life for Mrs. Ruth Marie Fore, 84, of Nacogdoches will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, 2011, at First Church of the Nazarene, Nacogdoches, with the Rev. Harley Patterson officiating. Mrs. Fore was born April 19, 1927, in Nacogdoches to parents Harrison Garrett and Annie Bell Mooney. She passed away Sept. 20, 2011, at a Nacogdoches hospital. Ruth was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She attended Nacogdoches High School and married her husband, C.M. Fore, at the age of 18. They were devoted to each other for 66 years, until his recent passing. Marie enjoyed being a homemaker, tending to her family and often provided administrative support to her husband in his career. She was a life-long member of the First Church of the Nazarene where she offered her support in many ways. Marie was a children's camp counselor, teacher of both Sunday school and vacation Bible school. She was honored by her church in the naming of the gymnasium after her. She expressed love to her family through her shopping expeditions. She loved surprising them with gifts. Marie was not intimidated by taking large groups of grandchildren shopping for school clothes. She found pleasure in watching roses grow and hummingbirds feed in the backyard. Family gatherings and holidays were a special time for her, and cooking was a big part of her enjoyment, when the family all got together. She loved making divinity, peanut brittle and coconut cream pies. Marie loved dressing up in Western wear for Foretravel functions and actively participated in the Foretravel Motorcade Club. She enjoyed the role of Mrs. Claus at Christmas time with her grandchildren. She always kept a watchful eye over the youth of the Nazarene Church and saw that their needs were met. She loved traveling with her family. She will be greatly missed by her family who loved her most. She is survived by her son, Roy Lynn Fore of Honduras; daughter, Lynda Mulville and husband, Tim, of Missouri City, Texas; son, Ray Fore and wife, Sherry, of Nacogdoches; grandchildren, Tobie Fore, Michael Fore, Wendy Pechman, Shelly Richardson, Adam Fore, Jennifer Torres, Jacquelyn Tatum, Greta Simon and Tyle Fore; eleven great-grand children; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ruth also leaves behind special friends and caregivers, Era Johnson, Becky Clifton, Mary Nobles, Felipe Gutirrez and wife, Yadira. Ruth is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence M. Fore; and brothers, Willie Everett Garrett and Jerrell P. Garrett. Visitation will be held from 10:30 until 11:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 23, at Cason Monk-Metcalf followed by a committal service at Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be offered to: Nacogdoches Christian Academy, 211 Southeast Stallings Drive, Nacogdoches, Texas 75964. Online condolences may be offered at www.casonmonkmetcalf.com. Arrangements are under the direction of Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors.
