Air Bags

I want to keep a spare air bag just in case. I found the nice writeup on BarryB's site which notes the same bellows number that I see on our rig. The writeup also notes a part number for the assembly (W01-358-9448). The author has a 97 320 and ours is a 99. Question: Is this assembly number consistent year to year? Thanks.

JOR asked: "Is this assembly number consistent year to year?"

John,

The answer is yes. That part number is get you the whole kit: rubber bellows and metal plates. FT used the same Firestone air bags for several years, as mine ('92 U-280) use the same number. I replaced them last year. Got them from trucksprings.com. Here is the URL:

Hope this helps.

Thanks, Don. I have one coming. I figure anything I carry as a spare will never break.

Just bought 3. $157.95/each delivered from: Firestone Airide Replacement Air Spring - w01-358-9448 - w01-358-9448 | $157.95
Easy to install but need the right 1/2 extensions, 1 1/8" medium depth 1/2" drive socket and 20 ton bottle jack to make it a quick job. Will post a DIY just as soon as I get a little time.

If anyone who has replaced these has some of the old ones that are in fair shape I would like to get one or two and carry them as spares without having to buy new. Kind of like recycling. My existing ones (probably original) look OK but there is some deterioration of the outer rubber, no inner cords showing. Let me know how much you would like to get for them and we can go from there. I will likely be in mid Florida over the next couple of months, so shipping would be to there.
Thanks
