I'm no expert on the Sharp microwave, but the lower panel can be removed without removing the whole unit. About all that will do is give access to the lights above the stove top and the carousel motor. The light and motor are on when the unit is in operation and is probably controlled by a relay. The relay could be stuck in the on position or the contacts welded together. If you do remove it and take it apart, you should be careful not to turn it on and have a source of uncontained microwaves that could cook your brain or start a fire. There may be someone in Austin that can repair microwaves, I haven't checked. Sharp might have factory authorized repair facilities somewhere in the US.
