TV to Bose

Our TV up front has a digital optical audio out and a component out. Is there any way to connect this to our Bose Lifestyle 25? We're using the Bose now for iPod, CDs and radio. The Bose has Video 1 and 2 available along with a port labeled serial data. Thanks.

Also, anyone have an extra Bose remote you might want to part with?

Our TV audio has always been through our Bose Lifestyle system. Hooked our new 32" Sony LCD up the same way - component (red/white) cabling. I've thought that was the norm but perhaps not?

Thanks, Chad. Yea, now that you mention it, I suppose the old component setup is all I need. The TV is cabled to the Dish box through the component port so I guess I just need to cable from the Dish box to the Bose Video1.

It appears individual coaches are apparently somewhat unique in how the Bose is wired, but on my '98 the TV audio-out (RCA connection) goes to the Bose, allowing it to provide audio both for the DTV programming, and the bat-wing. Easy enough to experiment a little; not too complicated to try it both ways before you button things up. As an aside, the TV audio is still available through the Sony in-set speakers; we just turn that audio down and use the Bose 90-percent of the time.

I just did this in mine.  On the side of my TV there's a audio out jack for head phones.  The component out to the Bose didn't work on my TV.
I bought a 6FT 3.5mm Plug to RCA Hookup from Radio shack (or here's one at Amazon:

The 6 feet wasn't long enough to run from the TV to the back of the Bose so I had to also use a RCA jack extension cable to reach the RCA jacks on the Bose.  I now turn the TV speakers off and have nice stereo all around.

They do make optical digital audio to analog converters (Toslink to RCA) but can cost $50 to $125.

OK, got it all working. Thanks to all (didn't have to use the TosLink, Bob). So now we have TV front and back on Vid1, DVD on Vid2, iPod on Aux along with AMFM and CD. This is more like it. When we bought this rig it had the original CRT TV and the Bose head unit was broken. I got the head unit repaired at Bose hoping that the Acoustimass was still good. Lady Luck was with us. Sounds great!

I can select Zone 2 at the unit but would prefer a remote. Still looking.
