drivers seat

drivers seat(original)is offset approx. 1 1/2 inches to the rightof center of steering wheel...looking under coach it seems to be the original position.I am wondering if others are like this.If so,what is the purpose?

Ours is positioned to the left of the steering wheel. David Flanagan at FOT said it was probably the choice of the original owner. Some people put the seat to the left for more room in the aisle. Perhaps someone wanted to be closer to the control pedals in your coach.

If we have our floor covering replaced at FOT, we will ask that they center the seat on the steering wheel. The current position is not good for my bride. It also offends her sense of symmetry.  ;) Currently it is so close to the driver side wall that it won't turn around to provide seating for the "living room."

Dale, My left seat is centered on the steering wheel but there is not room to swivel it to face rear or center.  I have tried every combination of seat position with no luck.  On My GV the Right seat will swivel but it takes the right sequence of moving the seat to do it.

My drivers seat is just like yours. At first it drove me nuts and I would sit on the seat left of center but I have gotten mostly used to it. My coach interior was remodeled at the factory in 2009 so I had always presumed it was moved to the right at the request of the previous owner. Now I'm not so sure. As Gary said, if it is centered it does make the seat difficult or impossible to swivel. I'm not sure if I will change it or not.

Mine is to the left of the wheel a bit. I rotate the seat to the right just a bit when driving so it does not irritate me as much.

GO HOUSTON TEXANS!!! with my seat to the right of center it does allow for turning to the right facing passenger side. For me I find that to be an advantage. It would probably go further to face the rear except it hits up against steering wheel...If my power seat motor worked,I could probably rotate further, which would be ideal...
