Leak in cold water drain valve

I have an increasing leak in my cold water drain valve.  I need to know the size of the manablock fitting so I can find a hardware store and cap the bottom fitting.  At least that's what I think would temporarily block my leak. Am I correct?

Hey Caflashbob,

I replaced mine recently. It is a 1/2" Pex valve. They are available at Lowes and Home Depot. You will also need a 1/2" Pex crimping tool/rings and Pex tubing. The tubing cuts easily with a PVC cutter.

Lowes & HD carry shark bite fittings.  You may be able to find a valve so equipped.  Would save on having to get crimping tools which are pricey.

When I bought my crimping tool for around $40 I though that it was probably a waste of money.  After 3-1/2 years of full timing and several instances when I needed the tool it has more than paid for its self. The Sharkbite fittings are convenient but very pricey for what they are.
